A Product Review on Dr. Brown’s Bottles

After months of fighting the battle of colic with my first daughter, my doctor suggested I start using Dr. Brown’s bottles. He did tell me that they are quite expensive so to start by buying a few and just continue washing them until I could see if there would be a difference. I was extremely reluctant as I had tried just about every colic product on the market and none seemed to work. But I but the bottles and to my surprise, they worked!
Dr. Brown’s bottles have something unique to any other bottle. They have a vent and an internal tube. The vent stops the vacuum action that accompanies most bottles and eliminates air bubbles by placing them through the internal tube. The internal tube takes the air that would usually go into baby’s stomach and places it on top of the milk so that it never reaches your baby’s mouth. Hearing all of these things I still was not convinced as every other product seemed to promote the same idea of eliminating air bubbles and reducing colic.
We began using the Dr. Brown’s bottles in the early afternoon the day of the doctor’s appointment. It was about twenty-four hours later when my husband and I really started to notice the difference. Our daughter wasn’t spitting as much at mealtime, she seemed to be more comfortable while she was eating, and there was definitely a lot less crying! The bottles did not eliminate the colic altogether but I believe that is just because some babies are born with gas sensitivity and no product will put a complete stop to that. But, Dr. Brown’s bottles really did make a huge impact and we began to really be able to enjoy our daughter instead of just trying to get her to stop crying.
I recommend Dr. Brown’s bottles to anyone who is about to have a baby. I didn’t even try any other bottles with my second daughter. I knew that if anything was going to make feeding time a happy time, it was going to be Dr. Brown’s.
