Product Review on Beginnings Gentle Motion Swing

Cosco Beginnings Gentle Motion Automatic Swing, Ashton

Both of my daughters had a baby swing that they absolutely loved! They could sit in there while I did dishes or threw in a load of laundry and they would play contentedly as they were swung back and forth. With my first daughter, I hated the baby swing. It had a huge bar across the top that housed the motor, it was wind-up, which meant I had to stay on top of it every twenty minutes, and it was loud. I was so thankful when that swing broke with my second daughter and I was able to shop for a new one!

I decided on the Beginnings Gentle Motion Swing. In all honesty, I chose that one because it was the cheapest and my daughter was already three months old when I bought it so, I knew we wouldn’t be using it for much longer. I didn’t have great expectations because it was so cheap but it really surprised me with the features it had and how modern and beautiful it was!

The Gentle Motion Swing has three different reclining positions. This enables you to put your newborn baby right in the swing and they are almost lying down, or you can sit them up when they get a bit older, or you can choose somewhere in the middle for when they are simply hanging out in their swing! I was a bit disappointed with the 5 songs and 5 sounds that the swing boasts. One of the sounds is of a rain forest and while the rushing rain is quite soothing (to both baby and myself!) the squawking birds that are very loud are not so soothing. The songs are quite nice though and my daughter did seem to enjoy them!

The battery operation makes it very convenient for parents and the swing will automatically turn off after two hours, in case baby falls asleep in the swing and you want to save those precious batteries! The cushioned seat is fully removable for easy washing and comes out very nicely in the wash. The open top means there’s no longer any worry about managing baby through an obstacle course when taking them out of the swing and the swing folds up nicely when it’s time to be put away for storage!

It is also the cheapest swing I could find on the shelves, costing approximately $50 USD. It’s a really great value and my daughter and I both recommend it to any parent in the market for a new swing!
