Baby Product Review: Baby Einstein’s Sing and Play CD

Baby Einstein began making products for babies over ten years ago. They pride themselves on creating age-specific objects and media that invite new ways for parents and caregivers to interact with each other. The Sing and Play CD is a perfect example of how they have accomplished this goal.
The CD is comprised of 21 songs, ranging from such classics as “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” and “Skip to My Lou” to timeless pieces by Beethoven, Brahms, and others. The music is lively and encourages babies and young children to bounce and “sing” along. The “Baby Einstein Music Box Orchestra” includes piano, keyboard, guitars, percussion, trombone, kazoo, and other instruments. Most of the songs have the complete lyrics sung along by four vocalists.
Included in the case are the complete lyrics for all the songs (except for four instrumental pieces). Activity suggestions also accompany each song (including the instrumentals)—ideas for games and active play are easily adapted for babies of all ages.
I have seen babies from 2 months to 20 months enjoy Baby Einstein’s Sing and Play CD. They sing with “aaaaaahhhhhh’s” and “babaadadadaaa’s” and bounce with the music. When you play the suggested games they laugh and get excited. Use it for background music when your baby’s playing, as a focus for Singing Time, in the car, or with his or her friends!
I strongly recommend Baby Einstein’s Sing and Play CD!
