Product Review: The Diaper Genie
Parents have literally thousands of dirty diapers to contend with in the eighteen months to three years that their child will be in diapers. To make an unpleasant task even more so, there is the disposal situation that can become quite messy and stinky. Playtex has solved this problem with the delivery of The Diaper Genie.
Although it has been around for many years, The Diaper Genie is still a fabulous invention! This diaper disposal system takes the dirty diapers and wraps them entirely in plastic and then collects them in a basin until it becomes full and requires emptying. It’s very easy to use. When you open the lid, the plastic is sitting right inside in a Diaper Genie refill that is easily placed inside the contraption. Simply place the diaper right inside and push it down a little way to make sure that it will be fully sealed once you close the lid. Close the lid, give the top of the Genie two full turns and voila! Your diaper is sitting inside the Genie wrapped in plastic.
When it comes to empty the Genie, you will know right away as no more diapers will fit inside. To empty, simply pull out the bottom and you will see all the diapers wrapped in plastic that you have collected. There is no mussing and fussing with different bags however, as the diapers are all attached “sausage-style.” There is even a cut feature that will allow you to cut the dirty diapers away from the clean plastic. Once you have removed the diapers, simply tie a knot into the refill again and start the process all over again!
If I had one recommendation, it would be to get one Diaper Genie for every floor in your house. You never know where a diaper change will take place and these things work so great at getting rid of odors that you will want one on hand at all times!
