Product Review: My Baby Float
Summer is here! Taking your baby swimming is a great way to enjoy the heat together. The only problem is that babies don’t swim, and there are only so many things you can do in the water while you’re holding a baby.
Intex has the solution. My Baby Float is a flotation device for babies who can sit up by themselves. It is recommended for babies up to two years old and under 25 pounds. (Intex also makes toddler pool toys.) My Baby Float has a seat made from two smooth straps that cross each other, a back-rest, and two tube-shaped air chambers that blow up easily.
It is available online and at Wal-marts and other retail stores.
How do the babies respond to the My Baby Float? Our 13-month old loved playing in the pool with it. She kicked her feet and squealed with excitement when she was splashed. She tried reaching over the edge to splash with her own hands. At times she held onto the tubes, and at other times she let go and clapped or splashed. She was happy playing in it for more than 20 minutes at a time. (We decided she had had enough direct sun after that time.)
Remember it is a flotation toy, not a life-saving device. You should never leave your baby alone in it, and you should always be able to reach your baby while he or she plays in it. Also, remember the sunscreen and water!
