Product Review: Lansinoh Brand Lanolin
Lansinoh packages “ultrapure medical grade” lanolin to help breastfeeding mothers. The beautiful thing is that it also helps diaper rashes on your baby! Lanolin eases pain and helps heal dry and damaged skin.
We originally bought Lansinoh to help with soreness from nursing after nurses at the hospital recommended it. You apply the thick cream to the sore area on the breast. It works wonderfully, and because it is made of natural safe products it does not need to be wiped off before feeding your baby (though your baby may make a face when he or she first tastes it!).
We also tried using it on diaper rashes. Unlike other diaper creams, Lansinoh is extremely gentle while still helpful to the irritated skin. It formed an effective moisture-barrier, keeping the rash clean so it could heal faster. My baby also seemed to find it soothing.
Lansinoh has also recently begun marketing a product specifically designed for diaper rashes, though it is not available everywhere. Lansinoh Brand Lanolin can be bought almost everywhere baby products are sold.
