Baby Names – Hot, Unique, and Common
Every parent has experienced this dillema – naming their babies. It’s an ordeal, believe me. I remember way back when I wasn’t pregnant, I keep a list of names that I would like to be my name, given the chance I could change it. And so when I found out that I was pregnant – I patiently waited until second trimester of my pregnancy to ask for the baby’s gender so I could decide on a name that early. Which is not easy.
First, I wanted her to be “Denise Nicole Beatrice” – yes, that is the spelling I wanted. But when I found out that the original “Betty La Fea” was being aired on national TV, I decided to cut out the third name.
I was picking some groceries on my way back home from my weekly checkup when I found out the Denise Nicole is indeed very common. I wanted my child to have a unique name – which I have enjoyed – thanks Mom – spelling wise and pronunciation wise.
To cut it short, I was undecided until the day came. The day that my daughter will be born. So it was 12am and we were rushing in the hospital. When she came at 3.30am, I was overjoyed. And then back to that dillema again: The Name.
I was dizzy (from the anesthesia) and my muscles ache everywhere when the form came in. Finally, I sought my Mom’s help – and she was more than grateful to give me names, which mind you some are so funny. So we decided that she’ll be Kyla Minnelli – named after a fave singer of mine and my mom’s favorite ballroom sports dancer.
Though today, she still asks why she is named such, she never complained of having a difficult name. And although Kyla is quite common – at least it’s not in the Denise Nicole range of commonness.
So, without further ado, here are my compilations of Hot, Unique, Common baby names.
