Check out the Kidsearch Network Forums
The growing number of kids who have runaway or reported missing is indeed alarming. But while these are instances where some parents would love to avoid, it is best to find a group or forum that can share and enlighten us one the reasons and preventive measures to understand reasons why kids and teenagers do this.
There is a good forum to check out, the Kidsearch Network forums. It is kind of new but you can see the conversations and issues discussed in detail. Similar to most forums on the web, you can get a lot of good information and tips on reason, alternatives and references to avoid being among the many parents who have had to deal with missing kids or runaway teenagers at this site.

I totally agree with you. I have written a similar post along the same lines a couple of days ago. The more people who can access these forums and share their views and/or experiences, the better.
