Keep Your Child Holiday ‘Party Safe’
The holidays are one of the most popular times for family get together. It’s no wonder that with all the hustle and bustle you want to be able to relax, take it easy and not have to worry about your little one hurting themselves. A trip to the emergency room isn’t really considered a family outing after all.
There are a few ways to keep your child safe this holiday party season.
- Make sure little hands can’t get to dangerous things. (Avoid using that table cloth.)
- Keep gates around anything decorated with ornaments (ie: the tree).
- Avoid decorating with poisonous plants. (Perfect excuse to not have to go crazy watering them and cleaning them up!)
- Clean up unfinished mixed drinks asap. Even a little bit of alcohol can be toxic.
- Keep a lookout for any spills. (I have employed younger family members to this job, telling them they are the safety monitor, they loved it. Although, you do still have to keep your eyes peeled.)
- Be careful with tiny foods. (Anything small can be a choking hazard. Keep them far out of the way of little hands.)
There is a huge bonus to this list, it’s a great reason to not have to do so much this year!
