The CDC is reporting record numbers (since 1996) of measles outbreaks in the US.

Saying:

From January through July 2008, CDC received reports of 131 measles cases from 15 states and the District of Columbia—the highest year-to-date number since 1996. More than 90% of those infected had not been vaccinated, or their vaccination status was unknown. Many of these individuals were children whose parents chose not to have them vaccinated. Fifteen of the patients, including four infants, were hospitalized.

They are putting the blame on parents who don’t vaccinate their children.

The choice on to vaccinate or not vaccinate is one that is wrought with many fears and misleading claims.

The Center for Disease Control is urging parents to vaccinate their children to reduce the risk of acquiring this and other diseases.  Stating that there is no proven link between Autism and the vaccines. Thimerosal, (the mercury in the vaccinations used for preservation) is commonly thought to have a link to Autism.

One way or the other there has been no absolute proof.  So, it’s leading many to wonder and in doing so, question if they should vaccinate their children or not.
