Mom And Eight Babies Doing Well
Mom who gave birth to octuplets in California is doing fine, and so are the babies.
They were expecting only 7 but got a surprise with an 8th baby, and they are doing great after being born 9 weeks early by c-section.
They are the world’s second set of octuplets.
Dr Mandhir Gupta told US television the eight babies “are doing actually very, very well”.
Dr Gupta said: “Only three babies need some sort of oxygen through the nose
right now but they are breathing on their own.”The smallest of the babies – a boy named Baby E – weighed in at 1lb 8oz.
Although requiring artificial respiration at first, he has since been taken off the ventilator. Dr Gupta described him as “very feisty”.
The mom is doing great as well, and is requesting her anonymity and is planning on breastfeeding all 8 of her new arrivals. It’s hard for most (or at least me) to actually imagine 8 babies at once.
