I’m a Bad, Bad Momma (Or Am I?)

Children’s television is a bit famous in some momma circles as being a bit.. Annoying. I’m sure we all have that one single show we absolutely cringe when we hear it’s opening jingle. (At least, I’m really hoping I’m not alone!)
After finding this story:
Having a toddler around the house means facing a few rock-solid inevitabilities. You will never again take sleep-ins for granted. You will have an audience when you go to the loo, along with a running commentary. You will explain, in painstaking detail, where everything in the known universe comes from. Apparently, your home will also be invaded by the Wiggles.

Aptly titled, “Plague of the Wiggles”, it got me thinking. I can’t be the only one out there driven insane by certain shows for kids. From way back when I babysat for my cousins, there were just some kid’s shows I couldn’t stand. Most namely, Dora and Caillou (he’s a whiny one there).
I do feel a bit on the guilty side, and have a bit of a confession. I ‘banned’ a few shows in my home, not because they’re bad for my daughter- no, instead because I absolutely cannot stand them.
From the whine of characters to the overly annoying siblings of characters, I just can’t deal with certain kids shows at all.
There, I feel a lot better after that. I can’t be the only one, can I?
