Nickelodeon: Unplug For Earth Day

Nickelodeon the kid’s television network is asking kid’s to go unplugged for the Earth at 9:00 pm on April 22, for Earth Day.   Granted many of the intended audience will already be in bed, and not playing games or what have you, but this is another of the Networks moments of telling kid’s to turn off the television in favor a better activity.

Nickelodeon also tells kids to turn off the television set for three hours a day to go play.  Possibly the only network (that I’m aware of anyway) telling their audience to turn them off.  Of course, they still show programming during that time, but it’s still something.

Nickelodeon isn’t the only company getting in on tuning out, many companies right now are encouraging the Earth Hour for Earth day.  Participation is easy, for an hour starting at 8:30 pm, local time where ever you are, turn out all the lights in your home.
