Not again. In another case of food and food products tainted with salmonella, and amid a few reported instances of sickness related to the pistachio products.

From Reuters:

The recalled nuts were shipped on or after Sept. 1, 2008 by Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella Inc.

Because the pistachios were used as ingredients in a variety of foods, the FDA said the recall is likely to impact many products. It also said the investigation at Setton was ongoing and may lead to additional pistachio product recalls.

Adding another products to the ‘do not ingest list’ all products containing Pistachios and the nuts themselves.

So, avoid all pistachio products, keep checking labels.

At the very best, at least they have started the recall before too many fell ill.  Although, there has been reported and related cases of salmonella poisoning, but at this point there are no reported deaths.
