Rockstar (Easy) Party Tips For a Budget

NotQuiteCookie.com

I’ve been scouring the internet for some party ideas for kiddo’s upcoming party (well, upcoming as in about 6 months away) and I came across some pretty awesome tips for party ideas.

From the cake to the decorations I’m planning on doing it all, it’s a bit my ‘thing’ but if it’s not yours it’s easy to fake it.  I’m far form Martha Stewart (heck, I don’t even play the stock market game anymore).

Theme!

I couldn’t think of an ironic title but, for the main theme think of something your kiddo loves (I’m going to go with Spongebob,  Kiddo is a bit on the obsessed side with the sponge guy. I’ll be using that as my example.).

To Heck With The Theme (sorta)!

My favorite way to save some green?  Resist the urge to buy everything in the character designs.  They charge more by a bit.  Instead opt for the color themed napkins, plates, and whatever else.

Pick out a few primary colors from whatever the main theme is, get matching plates and napkins in those.

Spongebob is easy for this one, yellow and white.

Let Them Eat Cake!

Make the cake.  No, I swear I’m not crazy here. If you want, pick up a couple of boxed mixes and decorate it yourself.  Some characters (if you are doing a themed party) are really easy to recreate in cake form.

The yellow guy is as easy with this one too,  he’s a rectangle.

You can also try and find a themed cake pan off amazon.com,  they make them for almost everything you can imagine and amazon.com has some great deals.
