Studies Show: TV Isn’t Magic

girltv

There are a lot of studies looking for very important things, saving lives.  Then there’s those studies, that well, aren’t really saying anything most people don’t already know.  You know the ones I mean, “Studies Show Breathing is Great!” type of studies, this is one of those.

In the go-to kiddo medical journal Pediatrics they ran a study trying to conclusively prove one way or the other than television viewing will (or not) improve IQ.   Want to guess the outcome?

Television won’t improve you kiddo’s smarts.  An outcome that I sincerely have a hard time believing they were actually surprised (or bothered to fund).

It seems they have been running these studies more and more since the Baby Einstein Series came out, perhaps due to their chosen name and what that name implies.

Admittedly this is just one of those things that get me, it’s far from being ‘my hill’ but the tv is simply for entertainment, when did that change?  I know there’s a huge debate over someone allowing let their children watch tv, (I’m not trying to start up that debate here).

Are you surprised by this study?
