Lifestyle Mom Dana Hilmer offers a couple of great ideas on how to spend Easter come this Sunday. Traditionally, we see the usual Easter eggs and chocolates but with these new innovative ideas from the Lifestyle Mom herself, you know you are in for quite a treat!

This Easter holiday, ditch the traditional basket full of candy and give that chocolate bunny some great company with creative and cool gifts the kids are sure to love. According to Dana Hilmer a chocolate bunny and a sprinkling of candy are a welcome tradition but she suggests them as an accent to exciting gifts that takes center stage.

One thing you can do is to create a themed basket around something your kids will love. For the tween girl on your list a Hannah Montana basket is sure to be a hit. Hilmer recommends adding the family friendly, Hannah Montana The Movie, video game from Disney Interactive. Girls will love it and as it has just came out this week it’s a definite cool thing to get for Easter. Players can step into the dual life of Hannah Montana and Miley Stewart, and enjoy the everyday adventures of Miley in Tennessee. as well as the extraordinary life of Hannah the rock star. They can perform and dance new songs from the movie, and even customize wardrobes for Hannah. Plus any big Hannah Montana fan will know that the movie is just coming out, so toss in a few movie tickets and a Hannah doll you will have a fabulous themed basket she is sure to love.

For the preschoolers, Hilmer recommends creating a kids craft basket. Kids this age are budding artists and giving them the right tools is a great way to foster their creativity. Include items like crayons, paint, finger paint, sketchpads, pipe cleaners, and glue. Of course you’ll need to keep a tight watch on the little ones so they’re not painting your wall! This basket is sure to be a hit and the parents benefit too as crafts are a fun way for parents to spend time with their children.

Finally, Hilmer suggests if you’re celebrating your baby’s first Easter forgo the traditional candy and instead include a number of items for baby like bottles, a teething ring, a lullaby CD, books, DVD, and some cute baby’ s first Easter bibs and socks. It will create a memory moms will cherish.
