Free Fun For the Little Ones
Today’s economical atmosphere is leaving most of us wondering what the next few years will be looking like for us, and our children. So, it’s no wonder that most parents want to do something fun and on the cheap with their kids. With movies costing about as much as a new car, and the overhyped ‘activity centers’ being a financial black hole, there are some fantastic thing you can still do with the kids without fearing for your bank accounts safety.
Go ‘Camping’
All that’s needed is some lawn or spare space inside, some spare time, and imagination. Maybe even some sheets and things for a ‘tent’.
Most of us have made a ‘fort’ in our childhood, it’s fun and is a great learning experience with a ton of imaginative games you can play to go along with it. My brother and I used to spend a lot of time playing in the ones we made, there were even a couple of camp-ins.
A Visit to the Local Library
Most local libraries have free child-oriented activities like story times and even some times puppet shows. We’ve all heard all the great benefits reading has, and libraries obviously have a ton of books for any taste.
Another bonus? You can also use the library as an alternative to renting movies. You can also borrow music, movies, and other things from the library so it’s far from ‘just books’. Although, usually the selection is slimmer than say netflix, but it’s still a great chance to get reacquainted with some of the classics.
Download Coloring Books, Games, Much More
Seriously here, the internet really does have something for everyone. Do a search for ‘Free Coloring Book Pages” and you will get tons of websites with a huge variety of freebies. Two my quick search brought up was ABCTeach, and ’The Kidz Page‘ either alone could easily pack in enough activities to keep the little ones happy for a while.
Now, let me be the first to admit, this is painfully far from everything so if you have a favorite (and free) activity that you and your kids love feel free to post it in the comments!

Its really hard to discipline kids when grand parents meddle with the parents. So, kids can’t decide who to follow their parents or granny.
