Jardine Cribs Recalled
About 96,000 cribs from the Toys R Us stores (Toys “R” Us, Babies “R” Us, KidsWorld and Geoffrey stores, as well as on www.babiesrus.com) were recalled for a second time Thursday. They are the Jardine Crib which were available between September 2005 and April 2009 in the stores.

But children’s safety expert Amy Marsh says if the crib is not in perfect condition, instead of a convenience, it can be a dangerous feature.
“As you can see, there’s a lot of hardware too and if that hardware gets loose or damaged, this will start to slide out and that baby can slide down in between and get strangled. What they’re showing in some of the recent data, in the last four or five years, at least five deaths, specifically due to damage to slats or mechanism where it became loose and the baby became trapped between mattress and drop down side and then they were strangled,” Marsh said.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission here have been over 5 million recalls of cribs, bassinets and play yards in the last two years.
