New Baby Bling
Push Presents are far from expected (although many new moms are thankful) but don’t tell that to this Fox Reporter:
Men who thought their lavish-jewelry duties were over after they purchased the engagement ring might get a shock when their babies are born. That’s when it’s time to shop for the “push present”.
Now, when I gave birth my husband (at the time) was far away on a deployment, he was however on the telephone. Suffice it to say, I was content with that. I didn’t expect any gifts for delivering our daughter, she was more than gift enough.
Out of all the women I’ve known only one has expected or gotten anything from her mate for delivering their (6th) child. Although, in that situation, I can hardly blame her , after 6 kids I’d better be getting something fancy too (I kid).
The image at the top of this article is obviously for humor’s sake, those rings just seem so impractical. It does illustrate that this trend can be seen the same way. Although, it does seem like a very nice gesture, I doubt many women are actually expecting anything in return, are they? Either way, I sincerely doubt it’s the life crushing event if your hubby isn’t shelling out a ton of cash that the article is making it sound.
How widespread is this anyway?
Then again, there’s a lot on this list that I really would love. This isn’t a bad idea, I’m definately not poking fun at any momma whom has received one of these gifts (the reporter on the otherhand, maybe). Childbirth is far from easy, so it is a very nice thing for dad to do.
