Let Them Eat Carrots?
There’s a multi-million dollar industry of books and tips to ‘trick’ your child into eating healthy. Yet, as a parent most people don’t want to use dishonesty and covert squash in the sauce tricks to trick a kid into eating right, it just feels… unhealthy.
While I doubt that Let them eat carrots will be a battle cry of health food lovers any time soon, maybe it’s time to rethink the reasons behind a popular train of thought.
Why should someone have to ‘sneak in’ healthy foods when most kids love sweet fruits?
While some kids are picky eaters, and they may benefit from being sneaky and hiding healthy things in with the limited things they will eat, maybe a bit of a change in attitude may help a bit as well. There are some ways to get your child to eat better, while not being quite so sneaky.
These are great if your child is under the impression that some foods are just inherently ’gross’.
It can be seen everywhere, the thought that kids hate veggies and any other healthy and good for you food. Maybe a bit of a change in that thinking is finally called for.
Contrary to popular belief, there’s nothing that predetermines a dire hatred of any and all veggies.
Nada, zip, zilch.
How’s that for revolutionary thought?
Yet, you still see the message loud and clear absolutely everywhere.
Why is that? Well, it’s a marketing message that works.
Basically, companies are touting the ever so secret good for kid’s things snuck into their foodstuffs. Kid’s see this, and think they are ‘supposed to’ hate veggies, it’s really is just a simple marketing message.
Hey, maybe I am way off the mark in this.
Is being sneaky with food good or bad?
