Make the Transition Back To School Easier

Back to school time can be exciting, some kids don’t need much in the way of help for the transition others need a bit of help to get this started. It can be a rough transition for most, going from the relative easy days of summer straight into the structure of the school environment.
Here are some easy tips to get your child off on the right foot:
*Start the schedule early. One of the most difficult transitions can be sleeping for the necessary time (about 8 hours) and waking up earlier. Starting this schedule a bit early can help make the transition a lot easier.
*Talk about any fears, worries, or concerns. Kids can be nervous starting the new year so settle their concerns by talking it all out with them.
*Tell them all the exciting things they’ll be learning. If your child is making a larger transition (as in pre-school to kindergarten, or kindergarten to first grade) there can be some anxiety with a new school or more work.
Getting your child into the habit of waking and sleeping as they will when school starts can be a bit more of a challenge then getting them excited to go. If they aren’t liking the thought of going down to bed a bit earlier, or waking earlier for that matter, try doing it in increments of 15 minutes.
As usual, if you have any tips you use and would like to share, please feel free to do so in the comments!
