Like Mom, Like Daughter

“You realize you are turning into mom right?” my brother commented recently upon hearing my ‘mom voice’ for the third time in one hour.
It’s doubtful he noticed that he received the look of doom ™.
The comment did strike me and got me thinking. Then hearing myself using the same tone, I realized he’s right.
I am turning into my own mom. While it shouldn’t be exactly surprising, considering most women say the same exact thing, especially in recent years.
Researchers looked at everything from the number of times parents spanked children to how often children were praised.
Results showed the second generation of mothers very closely followed their own mothers pattern.(Source)
Dad’s however seem to not follow the same footsteps, as generally a son’s parenting style doesn’t seem to be linked to mom at all. It was a surprise to the researchers, but while the study didn’t study father’s influence the answer to where men learn parenting modes may come into play there.
