To make sure your child gets the rest they need, it’s very important to start and continue a naptime routine.  Starting early and keeping up with it, can pay out for you later in peace and ease later.

Not only is nap time important for a growing child, it also serves to help parents get some down time to relax or get some things done.

Here’s a few tips to help your baby sleep better:

Make sure to always change diapers or visit the potty before laying down for naptime.  Any wet or dirty diapers may only serve to wake up baby.

Make sure where ever baby sleeps is not too hot or too cold.

Quadruple check that wherever baby is sleeping that it is safe.

That means absolutely no pillows, stuffed animals, blankets, or anything else should be in or near a crib.  Babies don’t have the mobility yet to navigate away from any of these and they all pose a very real suffocation risk.

Let your child wake up on their own, unless there is an emergency, it’s an important part of learning a nap time routine.

If you have any other tips feel free to post them below!
