Air Force Veteran Invents SIDS Prevention Device

SIDS is a real fear of all parents.  It’s an absolutely horrifying thought that you could wake up one morning to something so completely horrible, but sadly it does happen. Joshua Vaught, an Air Force veteran, has come up with an idea to help babies survive the early year when SIDS is the largest risk.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also known as SIDS, is the unexpected death of a child under the age of one, where an autopsy cannot find an explainable cause of death. It is responsible for over 2,500 infant deaths in the U.S. each year. While learning about the statistics in one of his early childhood education classes at Pierce College in Puyallup, Washington, Vaught was determined to create a product capable of drastically decreasing this number.

While the Savior Baby Monitor is still in development, it should be hitting production relatively soon (we hope).  Any that can prevent SIDS can indeed be a huge relief and a blessing for many parents everywhere.
