Coping With The Winter Weather

It’s that time of year again, with flu shots and sniffles and all those things that come along with this time of year. While there are some new things to watch out for, they still fall within the normal problems most families face.
Some of these tips could easily fall under stress relief, the cooler weather can have a seasonal downer effect on many people. If the down and out mood continues, you may want to talk to someone about it.
- Wash your hands. While it seems so basic, many people just don’t wash their hands properly. Even if you do, you can still come in contact with many object daily that someone who isn’t as good with the practice may have touched. While scrubbing with warm and soapy water sing your ABCs. Modeling this behavior for your child and getting them to do the same can also keep them healthy as well.
- Exercise and Eat Healthy. Even if the cooler and darker season has gotten you down, proper nutrition and exercise can help ‘lighten’ your mood and keep you healthy. Encourage your child to exercise as well, by doing some fun activities.
- Laughing and Downtime. It may sound outright silly or even cliché, but laughter really is good for you. By doing something silly, or watching a funny movie you can keep your spirits up. It’s also important for stress relief to take some downtime.
These tips may seem not all that vast, but these things really do help people. If you have another, why not share it in the comments?
