Flu Season Safety

There is still a huge fear over the H1N1 flu, it’s understandable even if it is milder than the normal flu.  The vaccine for the H1N1 flu also has a lot of debates surrounding it, experts however are still calling for young children to be vaccinated during the first rounds anyway.

While so far H1N1 isn’t as bad as even the normal flu, (there is still concerns of it mutating), however the original fear of this being another Spanish Flu so far thankfully haven’t come to pass.

When it comes to basic safety, the same rules as the normal flu apply.  Hand washing is your first line of defense, and staying far away from anyone who may be sick even if their symptoms aren’t that bad.

The CDC has put together a list of three things to protect yourself and your family during the flu season.  Young children and the elderly at the groups most at risk of severe complications from the flu, so those around either group really need to take extra precautions around them.  Wash your hands a lot with warm and soapy water, and remember the helpful tip to sing your ABCs to assure proper hand washing time.
