Will you be getting the H1N1 (Swine Flu) vaccine?

This one simple question has been the culprit of a lot of stress, worry and anger lately.  Even the flu itself has caused seemingly more issues that extend far, far beyond just getting sick.  Between debates, concerns, and general stress induced by countless sources- it’s enough to drive one mad.

Just how bad is the swine flu?

While there sill is a concern over a mutation, so far this ‘world ending’ flu seems to be anything but.  The long past versions cited so often were much worse, and this one isn’t close of late.  There is so much fear and worry that most parents are more fearful of the vaccination than the actual H1N1 flu itself.

Where can I Find Out More?

There really are many, many fabulous sources for information that can be found online.  Including a simple yet completely to the point Q&A post found here from the Vancouver Sun (a highly recommended read).  Which, due to it’s complete lack of fearfulness, is a personal favorite on the topic.

While the ‘Swine Flu’ may not be as serious as some have been worried, it is still better to avoid getting sick from even a mild flu, after all, nobody wants to pass it on.    While my own daughter has received the annual flu vaccination, the rest of our family (myself included) is looking for a place to get the same.

It seems around my area there is a large shortage of the flu vaccine, partially due to fears of both the actual ‘swine flu’ and the vaccination against.

A fair portion of the news in the media is frightening, and many are concerned about both the flu itself and the vaccination against.  This leaves many with a lot of confusion, including many parents. Just remember:  always research first before panicking.
