Need Closed Captioning? Rental Version of Up Doesn’t Have It

Perhaps trying something new to persuade consumers to go out and buy the full DVD of Pixar’s Up, Disney has removed all the ‘extras’ from the rental version of UP. The extras on the hit movie apparently include closed captioning for the hearing impaired.
Disney has confirmed the move, and has no plans to change it. It seems that if you need closed captions, and want to see the light hearted movie, well you are going to have to shell out for the full version.
While the rental version does claim to have closed captioning on the box, many now annoyed consumers are finding that it simply doesn’t exist on the disk. Much to the disappointment of many, after they’ve rented the movie.
Websites that specialize in rentals mention the movie comes with subtitles but consumers are finding that it actually doesn’t (highlighted below, from the Netflix page).
The move has understandably left a bad impression on many who had waited to rent the movie due to hearing impairment.
