Bristol Palin Talks Sex With Oprah

Brstol Palin, the one time Vice Presidential hopeful’s Sara Palin’s daughter was on Oprah recently talking sex and babies. While that talk seems to be a bit too late, the teenage mother is swearing to remain celibate until marriage.

It seems that Bristol could have had a real and positive impact with teenaged girls, but instead of talking about the realities of being a teenaged mother, and the hardships that comes with it she instead decided to avoid it.

Oprah herself found many issues with the things Bristol was saying:

The daytime talk-show queen says she "bristled" when she read a recent In Touch cover story (one that reportedly earned Bristol $100,000) in which the 19-year-old mom declares, "I’m not going to have sex until I’m married. I can guarantee it."

Oprah just wants to know why Bristol would want to set herself up like this. And more than that, what’s the point in getting everyone involved in her sex life when it’s way easier and much less intrusive to just keep to yourself even if that does mean forfeiting a six-figure tabloid cover.

Abstinence-Only tends to cause a few problems. While it is completely true that abstinence is the only surefire way to avoid pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease- it’s also what many consider to be the most difficult way to avoid them.

Admittedly, either way- I’m with Oprah and her train of thought. Is this all in a money grab? Or do the Palins just miss the spotlight?
