Woman Tries To Trade Toddler For Gun
It’s a sad take on society at large when stories like this happen as often as they do.
Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies arrested Tanya Nareau, 33, of Mesa, Ariz. on Tuesday after receiving a tip.
Deputies say they spoke with a family friend who had the child and confirmed Nareau gave the girl to him in exchange for a gun.
Deputies say Nareau felt the friend would do a better job raising the child than she would.
Nareau has been charged with the unlawful sale of a child and solicitation to possess a weapon by a prohibited person, authorities said.

With the Balloon Parents of the world out there doing (well, granted- fake) hugely dramatic things for 15 minutes of fame, others are doing incredibly horrible things for even worse reasons. While the little girl in question (she’s 2 according to some reports, the same age as my own daughter) is physically fine, there’s no real knowing what the future has in store for her mentally.
Due to a prior issue with law enforcement, Nareau wasn’t allowed to have a weapon in her position, and she is presently in jail.
