9 Year Old Nearly Gets Suspended Over Tiny Toy
Sure, the immediate handling of a dangerous threat to children’s safety is to be commended. The thought of a child, bringing some sort of weapon to school is a horrifying thought, it is best to immediately handle this danger.
However, when exactly did a 2 inch toys plastic gun become a weapon? Let alone a dangerous one?
The article on the story has a lot more in the way of details about this particular case, but you don’t have to search very far to find many other examples of the automatic suspension regarding weapons being taken way too far.
The young boy in this case was treated as if he were a mini Pablo Escobar, and understandably his mother is upset. While he was lucky, and didn’t get suspended- barely, many other children aren’t as lucky.
Items such as the above, nail clippers and many other items are getting children arrested, expelled, and more all the time. Shouldn’t these cases be decided on more logically? When is it all just silly and going too far?
