Indoor Activities for the Holidays

The children will have school days off soon as the Christmas holiday is really here. And if you are living somewhere were it’s zero degrees and below and they cannot play outside, having them inside the house all day may drive you crazy. So here are some suggested indoor activities you can let your kids enjoy, while you also prepare for the holidays.

1. Have your kids help you with the Christmas decorations. This is actually hitting two birds with one stone as you keep the children preoccupied and you finish decorating the house with lights and trinkets. This also make for good memories, which something the kids can look back to when they are older. Assign them simple stuff like putting the Christmas balls on the tree.

2. While you’re at it, let the kids help you with the holiday clean up. This also teaches them the basics of keeping things nice and orderly, as well as the spirit of sharing. You can organize a day set for this and have the children go over their stuff and pick out items they no longer need. Put these all in the box and them bring this over to a shelter or donate this to a charity. This way, your kids can truly appreciate the meaning of Christmas.

3. Spend a few times in the day allowing your kids to mess up one part of the house. If they want to build a fort in their bedroom, let them. And join them too, as this is a great way to relax and distress.
