This was when I turned to the Baby Einstein videos. After hearing all the stories about how wonderful they are for babies, and how they stimulate baby’s brain, I thought I had hit the jackpot. I went out and immediately bought three videos. The first was Baby Bach, so that my child could be enriched by classical music. The second was Language Nursery so that she could learn many different languages in her first year. And the third was Baby Wordsworth, in the hopes that she could also learn another language – sign language.

I was thrilled when my daughter loved the videos. She seemed to especially like Baby Bach. I was convinced that I had a composer on my hands. In truth, she probably just liked the different shapes and the bright colours that float across the screen while accompanied by music. I especially liked Baby Wordsworth because it gave me some basic sign language to teach my child who wasn’t even close to her first word yet.

Now that she is a little bit older and I now have another child, I realize that I’m probably not developing little geniuses just by throwing on a video. But that also doesn’t mean that they’re not worth the money. Firstly, they don’t really cost all that much. They also come in age appropriate categories that are made clear on the cover. So you will know if it’s going to be over your baby’s head or not. And lastly, babies really seem to like them. I’m making no guarantee that after watching a video, you’re child will delight you with masterpieces of art or with beautiful songs. But they will enjoy watching them and baby’s enjoyment is really all we should be looking for. They will still have lots of time for education.

Have you looked at your child lately? Well if not, just try to rekindle the thoughts when he or she was first born. Imagine your faces when that first cry was heard. Such were the ramblings of life as made by you and your mate. It is perhaps the best thing that can ever be heard and the feeling was mixed. Nothing beats the sight of a newborn baby, a sign of your love and taking you to the next level of living.

Let me warn you though. The road towards being categorized as a good parent is not easy. You are dealing with teaching and raising a child supposedly to be in your own mold. How you would go about it is entirely up to you. Just remember, this is a gift from God. Cherish and value it for not all are blessed as you.

I just went to the mall recently and found this super adorable outfits for kiddos. It looks like a miniature of super models outfit. I immediately checked the amount but to my surprise it’s just way expensive than I expected. So would you really buy these adorable but expensive clothings for your little ones? below are things to consider before purchasing these items.

1. Don’t be fooled with expensive styles. Don’t be impulsive in buying these clothes for your kid especially if it will cost you big bucks. Try to check other stores because they might have the same style but you can get it in a cheaper price.

2. Mommy! for goodness sake, please go for comfort! it perfectly fits your child, but does she look comfortable in it? Don’t push it if your child doesn’t like it. At an early age, you can actually ask your child what she wants to wear or does she feel comfortable with her clothes.

3. Go with mix and match! Go to your child’s wardrobe and check if there’s any clothes that you can match up to create another new outfit. Here, you’re teaching your child to be resourceful and be creative as well. You can actually ask her to mix and match her own way and organize a little fashion weekend where she can invite some of her friends to show their new invented styles.

You don’t have to spend to much for your kids especially with their clothings. Be wise with your money and set an example to your kiddos by saving up for more important things.

As the gifting season starts, I’m always on the look out for educational toys to give to nieces, nephews and friends’ kids. I love giving this as these are absolute learning tools. But the good ones, the ones that are not only durable but also designed properly, are hard to find. There are, however, loads to choose from online, like in Ebay. If you’re lucky, you can score rare education toys there too.

Choosing educational toys can also be tricky, as some items aren’t really built to be “educational” and stimulating in the long run.

What you should look for are toys that a child can grow into as their abilities develop. I prefer toys that enhance their motor and thinking abilities, such as in this photo, which is from Timberworks Toys. It’s something that can challenge critical thinking among young children. They can also spend countless hours challenging themselves when playing with this.

Well, a gift like this is actually a bit pricier but, then again, if you are looking for “educational” stuff, you might as well find a pricey toy and get your money’s worth, than pick one that’s colorful or musical only to have the child bored by it by the second day.

Babies physically grow faster in their first few years of life, which makes buying clothes rather challenging, especially if you constantly have to buy her new sets every other week. It isn’t practical to choose clothes that are way more expensive since the chances of the baby wearing this would probably only be three or four times, and then it would be time to dispose of it.

I personally do not go for branded and designer clothes for the baby, as this is not going to get me money’s worth. Instead, I take pains to shop for cheaper clothes. There are plenty of choices. You just have to know where to look.

For instance, many department stores have rack discounts or offer clearance sales for baby clothes at certain times of the year. Wise mom shoppers should grab this opportunity and take note of when these sales are happening as merchandise may sometimes go for 50-70%. Check with Macy’s and JC Penney, as they often have good designed and quality baby clothes for sale from time to time.

Shopping online is also a haven for bargain shopping. Because there are so many independent merchants peddling their items on E-bay and Etsy.Com, you could get lucky and score affordable and even one of a kind clothes for your precious kids. Some stores also offer online discounts that are not usually available at their actual stores.

Some thrift stores may also offer baby clothes that are hardly used or never used and sell them for $1-$5. Just remember to wash these clothes properly first before putting it on the baby, to avoid health issues later on.
