There are a lot of books out there that can help guide new parents but nothing really beats the gift of a true blue parent. Remember, the love and acceptance of being a parent and embracing responsibility is the most important thing. You cannot impose on yourself to take care of a child if you are ultimately unwilling.

Strong accusation and claims as it may, there are people in the world today who are not fit to be parents. Some are just buoyed to be parents to have an offspring or someone to pass on their torch when the faithful time comes for them to move on to the next life. This type of mentality is pathetic. Why create life in preparation for the passing of an existing one that may eventually die?

Babies and kids need proper guidance and we all know this to be parenting. Our kids were brought to life and were given something to consider with the use of proper teachings and morals that they inherit from us. We cannot force them to learn and be in our own image and likeness. Actually they will idolize us at some point and we will see that from their daily mannerism. That is why we should always be careful on what we act or do in front of them. In their eyes, these are always right even if some instances may not be ideal.

The best way to practice parenting is to understand the whole responsibility and aspect of it. Parenting is not something we should consider because other people are wooing us to be one. It should be grasped wholeheartedly without bounds. It is a natural trait in us and should not be instilled if we are apprehensive on it.

It seems as though as soon as a baby is born, the parents start looking for them to achieve milestones. First we want them to hold their head up, then we want them to roll over and then we start thinking about crawling and walking.

The rolling over milestone is really the first big movement that a baby will make on their own. With my second child, I was just as happy about her rolling over as I was with my first. I still called everyone I knew and applauded my baby as though she had just discovered electricity. Why do we get so excited? Well, it’s partly because it’s the first time that a baby is showing us that she’s well on her way to independence. First she’ll roll over and before you know it, she’ll be helping you make dinner. But there’s another reason. New parents are bombarded with what their child should be doing, milestones they should be reaching, when they should be reaching them, and how to help them achieve these great feats.

This can be a little overwhelming for parents that are sleep-deprived and already have too much to do. Worrying that our baby didn’t roll over the day she turned three months old can be one stress that we just don’t need. It’s easy to look at the ages for milestones and tell yourself logically that they are just guidelines. There’s really no need to worry unless your baby is continually missing milestones or seems to always be much slower than where the doctors and books say they should be.

But it’s important to not just tell ourselves these things but to actually believe them. These days are for bonding with your baby and to enjoy having them as the newest part of our family. Remember that they are just guidelines and if something is really wrong, the parent voice inside your head will nine times out of ten, let you know.

Which is a fantastic introduction to the ‘mission’.

Relax is not a word usually in this mom’s vocabulary. Even before my new found Mom moniker, being relaxed wasn’t something I was exactly known for. It’s not that I’m uptight, or upset or any of the other ‘negatives’ that begin with ‘up’ it’s just that, honestly I’m one of those people who is always doing something.

Always moving, thinking, doing something.

Now, granted it’s Friday which alone is usually pretty hectic around my parts, but I have a mission to relax. Things have been even more crazy as of late than usual so all the more reason to actually ‘schedule’ it all in.

Won’t you join me?

Your mission to do this weekend (if you choose to accept it) is simple:

1.) Me Time.

Getting exactly five minutes of only you time. No tantrums (unless, that’s your ‘me time’ thing), no children, and no spouse. It doesn’t matter if you have to lock yourself in the bathroom with a timer, 5 full minutes.

2.) Finding everyday things funny.

Laughter is the absolute best medicine. So, laugh. Even if people think you are loosing your mind. Laugh.

3.) Smile and Breathe.
Granted, this one goes along with laugh, but it still works. Now there is a whole ‘fake it ’till you make it’ movement going around, but seriously (yes, I’m actually asking) does faking happy actually make you happy?

4.) Pick up a hobby that you used to love.

Be it painting, writing, walking, pick it back up if you have dropped it. Even if you must start over from scratch.

This message will (not) self-destruct in five seconds (that would be defeating the purpose wouldn’t it?).

Check in on Monday for an update to this, now the list above is simple.- that’s the point, it’s little things that anyone can do. Check in Monday for a update on how this went.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren formally became parents as they welcomed Honor Marie Warren into the world as reported by USmagazine.com.

While now a new mommy, Jessica Alba is obviously overjoyed with her new baby but is having some thoughts about it particularly about breastfeeding. Apparently this is something normal for new parents as they really have to dig deep to know the ins and outs of parenting. But as far as Alba’s concern about breastfeeding, nothing was disclosed particularly about it.

During her pregnancy, Alba admitted, “anything could make me incredibly angry or break down crying. That’s not something I’m used to.”

Her one fear about mommyhood: Breastfeeding.

She told Extra she had a dream, and “it had to do with breastfeeding, which is the only thing I’m paranoid about. More than giving birth.”

Before I even gave birth to my first daughter, I started to shop for car seats so that I would be ready to transport my little one that moment she came into the world. I definitely knew that I wanted a car seat and stroller combination but this did little to narrow my choices down. Almost every manufacturer of strollers or car seats offers this combination so it can become quite baffling to new parents as to which one will be the best for them.

We ended up buying the Eddie Bauer Adventurer Travel System because my husband really likes that brand name. We ended up purchasing it because I couldn’t really tell a difference between this set and others that we had looked at. I still couldn’t tell you if there is a difference between this one and the others but I can tell you that I do love this system!

The car seat has three different height adjustments so that the car seat will grow with baby. The straps are also very easy to tighten and loosen, making it easy when you’re rushing out the door with baby. The car seat also comes equipped with a comfortable handle and a privacy hood and fits easily within the stroller for when you want to move baby from car to stroller without waking them up.

The stroller has a bar that goes across it for when you want to place the car seat on it and it has numerous reclining positions for when baby is big enough to sit in the stroller without the use of a car seat. Reclining or raising the seat in the stroller is also very easy, as it’s done with a simple tether strap on the back of the seat. Baby also has their own snack tray and cup holder, making it easy for them to grab food on their journey!

The stroller is very convenient for parents as well. A small compartment is placed along the handle bar, making it easy to place things such as pacifiers or extra change. There are two cup holders along the handle bar as well and a huge storage compartment underneath that is great for holding that bulky diaper bag!
